WHAT IS
LITURGICAL WORSHIP?
WHAT TO EXPECT
We worship according to the liturgy (a structured form of worship similar to those used by most Christians throughout the world since the beginning of the Church) found in our Book of Common Prayer.
After the Gospel lesson, children in grades kindergarten through 3rd grade are invited to attend Children's Church. This is an opportunity for them to hear an age appropriate lesson while the rest of the congregation listens to the sermon. They will return to the sanctuary in time for holy communion.
As part of our liturgy, holy communion is administered every week during the service. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion in our church. If you are not comfortable receiving communion you are welcomed to come to the kneeling rail for a blessing or you may remain in your pew.
We sing a mix of powerful traditional hymns full of depth and meaning, and music full of contemporary expression. We have the privilege of getting to keep the best of the old and the new.
Liturgical worship gives us the structure to direct our praise and guide our learning. It gives us a sense of depth and trustworthiness in a chaotic and ever-changing world. We can't wait for you to join us.
